Summer in NYC: A Classic Cone Crawl

My vote for the best way to spend a sunny day in NYC is an ice cream cone crawl. You can choose any area of the City, but I recommend the East Village. It seems to have a high density of unique ice cream shops within a reasonable walking distance.

After doing a bit of research, I narrowed down my list to the following 9 locations, but do your own research and get creative:

Momofuko Milk Bar

Mikey Likes It

Big Gay Ice Cream

Odd Fellows

I-CY-NY

Morgenstern’s Finest

Taiyaki

Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, and Ice & Vice

My route was 5 miles, and I visited the locations in this exact order. But be warned, that much ice cream is no joke. Brain freeze, sugar rush, tummy aches—the struggle is real.

But, seriously, it was really so much fun!

And I took my time and did not eat an entire cone at each stop. Definitely bring along friends and plan to share!

And not to influence your orders, but here are my "Cone Crawl" faves:

Best Cone: Taiyaki Best Milkshake: Momofuko Milk Bar Most Unusual Color: Black Ash (Morgenstern's) Spiciest: Colt 45 (Ice & Vice) Best Flavor Names: Pink Floyd and Ice Ice Baby (Mikey Likes It) and Opium Den (Ice & Vice)

Overall Favorites:

Salty Pimp and Little Mermaid (Big Gay Ice Cream)

Cherry Miso (Odd Fellows)

Shiso Lemon Vietnamese Coffee (Morgenstern’s)

And remember, it doesn’t have to be ice cream, it can be any guilty pleasure (bagels, pizza, sushi, french fries, meatballs).

Or head to Brooklyn and try them all at Smorgasburg! It’s really about the adventure of exploring the City.

You can find sweet treats anywhere you go! There are lots of ice cream shops in the city of Paris and all around Europe!
