I am your typical American girl. I have lived on the West Coast (Newport Beach, California), the East Coast (Westport, Connecticut), and in the South (Dallas, Texas). I spend surf summers in Los Angeles and ski winters in Colorado.

 

I have traveled through half of the states—with family, friends, bandmates, and on my own.

I took my first international trip to Ireland when I was six months old, and I have a photo in front of Bono’s house and a Jameson Whiskey certificate to prove it:) Having been raised by globe-trotting parents and amazing German au pairs, I’ve always had an adventurous spirit and desire to understand the world around me.

I took my first solo flight at age 8 and was traveling independently to international destinations by age 15. My travels range from the conventional (Boston, Barcelona and Bangkok) to the unconventional (Dhaka, Doha and Dakar).  And along the way, I’ve developed my own travel rules and preferences:

• Learn to say thank you in the local language; use it often

• Travel should be a little scary; choose destinations that challenge you

• Pack half the clothes you think you need; then remove a few more items

• Do your research and prepare; but leave room in the itinerary for impulsive detours

• Enthusiastically engage in local customs and celebrations; be a temporary local

• Give yourself a reason to return; you don’t need to experience everything in one trip

And most importantly, laugh, love, eat, drink, dance and take AMAZING photos!  Memories are the best souvenirs.
